It's been a little bit funny to see people's approaches to Lavi's demeanor, especially since he's unarmed and none of them have the context of what it means to be a Bookman--but by now Kanda's tired, so he's relieved he doesn't have to take the time to explain further.

[In the event that your partner dies before you form a connection, you can instead match with someone else who is similarly unpartnered and so on. It definitely could still be Lavi, but it could've been someone else, too--but he won't know until tomorrow.

[Not Kate or Laudna. Kanda's held himself apart here the same way he always does, but that doesn't meant he hadn't noticed how tight-knit the house group had become over the weeks. They care about him, and he thinks Lavi cares about them enough to listen, too.]
I'm not sure. I didn't ask a lot of questions about it.
[So he could also be wrong... he is not smart either, and he had no intentions of partnering, so. He's definitely not an expert on all the rules or anything.
