[DOES IWA EVEN SLEEP

Well if he's awake and outside at any point between (checks notes) 4 and 9am, he'll be able to catch Kanda training! Yay swords. Through his clothes, Iwa will also be able to see a large mark stretched across his chest!! As a monk, Iwa will probably notice that the middle looks vaguely like the Om/Aum symbol. Wowie]

no but he probably does get up early out of pure habit so yeah! iwa's here!! he watches in silence for a bit to assess kanda's form (and that symbol) before he finally speaks up. ]

Week 0, Thursday

Anyway at some point EARLY IN THE DAY PROBABLY UNLIKE WHEN I AM POSTING THIS Iwatooshi can spot Kanda, probably out in the woods or by the stream. Is he approaching from the back or the side.]

week 0, sunday

So even rituals to stop the bloodshed are stacked against us.

He left immediately after the execution, so they're probably just out in the woods or by the water or something idk it's fine. He will talk to Iwa, though he's got his arms crossed, Mugen still in hand.]

We should have killed him as soon as we caught him.

Week 1, Monday

[Puts Kanda in the field... internal affairs

He's in the same clothes he always wears, surveying the pumpkins! And looking slightly lost. Help him farm Iwa]

[ iwatooshi's at least had the sense to change into his internal affairs outfit damn ]

Kanda-dono? Did you get lost on the way to the beach?

[ clearly that's what happened here ]

week 1, saturday

[ god today sucked. but iwa pauses, solemn, when he finds kanda after trial. ]

Kanda-dono. Would you be willing to spar with me?

[ he is so full of restless energy it would be great to work that out. he feels like, of all people, kanda would understand. ]

[Iwa is right--he does understand! In fact, he can find Kanda out in the woods, running through sword forms like he does every night. He pauses when Iwa approaches, and considers the question--then nods his agreement, quietly shifting his stance to be ready to meet Iwatooshi's first strike.]

Week 2, Monday/Tuesday

[Hey Iwa you wanna see a sword get birthed in a SUPER weird way

Despite his best efforts, Kanda can't avoid everyone forever, no matter how hard he'll be trying this week. Eventually they will run into each other, and Iwa gets to see a memory.

[ throws them into the void some time later. iwatooshi doesn't have his naginata with him at the moment but this is fine. ]

Kanda-dono. I feel that I may owe you an apology.

[IWA WHERE DID YOU PUT YOURSELF

Some time later is good, though; he leaves immediately after trial because he has had a Lot going on for the past few days and his thoughts and feelings are a hot mess, but fortunately he's very good at shutting that shit down, so he'll come back to check out the town proper. He doesn't mind Iwa's approach, though he tilts his head slightly at his words.]

Week 5, Monday

[Sometime before all the living go crazy and Kanda gets turned into a cat...

Iwa can find Kanda in the dojo!! He's got Mugen back, though he's more unsteady than he was before thanks to his missing ear. He's going through the forms much more slowly than he did before, gritting his teeth against the unsteadiness he feels. He's had complicated feelings about losing his healing for Reasons, but right now he really wishes he had it back, because this is a pain in the ass...]

[ he's just going to watch kanda for a little bit to consider how this injury has affected him and his fighting. it sucks seeing a warrior struggle. ]

I'm surprised your injury didn't heal when you first arrived. But you're still doing well.

Week 5, Thursday

[EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO MUCH

We can set this pre- or post- all the things happening, it's up to you!!!

If it's earlier in the day, Iwa can find Kanda sitting in a cozy outfit (just basic comfy clothes) under a tree somewhere. He looks tired... maybe ever so slightly ill... fucking PARTIES.

If it's post- ALL THE THINGS he at least looks better... kind of. In that sense of "I can't afford to be tired and hungover because shit's happening" more than "I had a nice nap," but, y'know. It is what it is. Murdergame life.]

[ let's go post-everything because that's relatable as hell. iwatooshi feels more or less the same. we still haven't had break-ins return icly, either, so he's also on alert for something like that, because you never know. ]

I saw you were helping Caelus-dono. Thank you for that. [ he's still got some anxious vibes going, though. ] It was... surprising, to hear of so many. Usually there are only four in the fog each week.

[ EIGHT?? WHAT DO YOU MEAN EIGHT. ]

week 5, saturday

[ he is at the dojo after trial! what a day. he's miserable and lowkey dreading tomorrow, but doing drills helps clear his mind a bit. the bad vibes are still there, but much calmer, as he's practicing.

...but he does pause to offer kanda a light bow in greeting. ]

Am I in your way, Kanda-dono?

[ it's a shared space, but he can go if kanda wants it to himself. ]

[SWEET IWA... Kanda left the trial early, but he trains for hours every night, so he'll definitely show up eventually. He's traded his clothes for a better workout outfit, and he's got Mugen with him. His own emotions are pretty muted as he enters--mellow, but there's exhaustion mixed in too.]

No, you're fine.

[Iwa is Large but Kanda's used to fighting Large things, so he doesn't mind maneuvering around him.]

Week 6, Thursday

His phone is definitely dead he doesn't know anything happened. He will cross paths with Iwatooshi by chance... hewwo friend... how's he looking now]

[ fresh out of the springs, he's already changed into a loose yukata! you know how he is pixi the tits are free enough to see several new scars all over his chest. he's also still glowing a faint blue.

his eyes are also green? sure, why not. he waves! ]

Clawnda-dono! Has it been quiet today? I haven't heard meowch from the others yet.

[ HE SAYS AS ANOTHER??? CYOA APPEARS??? I GUESS!!! ]

week 6, saturday

[ what a mess!! he'll still go and check on kanda, though, he saw you leaving earlier. ]

Kanda-dono. How are you holding up?

[ are you still breaking... ]

[He's not! He stopped breaking around 1, a little before he left. He still has the bandage on his wrist, though, as well as his missing ear. Otherwise, he looks fine; his hair is up in a new hair cord, but his outfit and everything else are normal.

He's hard to find for a while after trial, but eventually he'll be at the dojo for nightly sword training.]

...I don't understand why we can't see them.

Week 7, Monday/Tuesday

When you open your eyes, you are underwater.

It's cold, and mostly dark. The only light comes from beneath you: you are in a pool of some kind. This is all you know. You have no idea who, or what, you are.]

Hey! Are you awake?

[There's a distant voice that you can hear, even through the water. (Your senses are very strong.) It sounds like it's coming from above you.]

If you're awake, raise your hand!

[What will you do?]

this is alarming? he's trying to find the source of the light when that voice calls out - the situation feels familiar, somehow, though the water is new.
