Not really. That's why basically half the people who borrowed it didn't expect to be cursed by it.

Most books shouldn’t carry curses, anyway, unless they’ve got an angry spirit or spell on them. [ hmmm. ] Do you think this building is another kind of church, then, Asa-dono? A place of worship?
