Ghosts are usually the spirits of living creatures that can't pass into the afterlife, aren't they? But I have always been this naginata. My spirit was born from years of care and use from my former master. I was never truly alive the same way as you until I was given this body.

Born from care and use... so in a way, your former master still gave you life, but it wasn't in a body like this.
